Spray Tans for Men: Yes, Men Deserve That Holiday Glow Too
Let’s clear something up immediately: spray tans are not just for women!
Most men have absolutely no idea how good a spray tan can make them feel.
Think about when you go on holiday and get that beautiful bit of colour. You look healthier, feel refreshed and suddenly every shirt seems to look better on you.
A professional spray tan gives you that same confident feeling—without spending days baking in the sun.
It may not last as long as a holiday, but that fresh, confident feeling is very real!

Are spray tans suitable for men?
Absolutely!
A spray tan can give men natural-looking colour, make the skin appear more even and help them feel more confident for:
Weddings
Holidays
Photos
Special events
Bodybuilding or fitness events
Or simply because they want to look and feel good!
At Personal Tanner, I am ready and happy to tan anyone.
You don’t need to know anything about spray tanning before you arrive. I will help you choose the right colour for your skin and the result you want.
The goal is not to make you look orange or obviously fake-tanned. The goal is to make you look like yourself—just back from a very lovely holiday!
What should men wear during a spray tan?
Men must wear something during their spray tan appointment. Men are never sprayed completely naked.
You can wear:
A C-string
A G-string
Speedos
Briefs
Underwear
Boxer shorts
Wear whatever gives you the coverage and level of comfort you prefer.
Just remember that whatever you wear will create a tan line. If you arrive wearing long boxer shorts, you will leave with long boxer-short tan lines. That is completely fine—just choose what you wear carefully!

Do all your grooming before your spray tan
Men, this part is important: your spray tan should be the final job—not the beginning of your grooming day.
Everything needs to be completed before your appointment.
Exfoliation
Gently exfoliate your entire body the day before your spray tan. This removes loose dead skin and helps your tan apply and fade more evenly.
Please don’t attack your skin as if you are sanding a wall. Gentle but thorough is perfect!
Shaving
Complete all shaving the day before your appointment.
Shaving after your spray tan can exfoliate the skin and remove some of your beautiful new colour. Freshly shaved skin may also be more sensitive, which is why doing it the day before is best.
Haircuts
Have your haircut before your spray tan.
If you have a haircut afterwards, the clippers and washing around your neck, ears and hairline can remove the tan and leave lighter marks.
Get the haircut first, then get the glow!
Waxing
Waxing should be completed at least two to three days before your spray tan. This gives your skin time to settle before the tanning solution is applied.
Laser treatments
Laser treatments must also be completed before your spray tan. Follow the timing and aftercare instructions provided by your laser professional before booking your tan.
What should men avoid on tanning day?
Arrive with clean, cool and completely product-free skin.
Please don’t apply:
Moisturiser
Deodorant
Cologne
Body oil
Sunscreen
Aftershave or body products
These products can create a barrier between your skin and the spray tan solution, causing lighter areas or uneven results.
Nervous because it is your first spray tan?
That is completely normal.
You don’t need to arrive pretending you are an experienced spray-tan man. Most men have no idea what to do during their first appointment—and that is my job to explain!
I will show you where to stand, how to position your body and exactly what to do. There is no judgement and no mystery.
Just good preparation, professional guidance and a natural-looking colour chosen especially for you.
Men deserve to feel fresh, confident and holiday-tanned too.
Book your men’s spray tan with Personal Tanner in Morningside, Brisbane, and discover why women have been keeping this little confidence trick to themselves for far too long!
